Send us the freezer brand, the model number and the internal cavity measurement (width × depth × height), plus the box format you intend to store. If you cannot get the model number, the cavity measurement on its own is enough — we work from that measurement rather than from a part number. We return a drawing showing the layout before anything is produced.

That is most of what we do. Racks are fabricated to the cavity dimensions you give us, so a discontinued freezer or a model we have not supplied before is not a problem. What we need is the internal measurement, the box format, and how many tiers you want.

Our racks are fabricated in stainless steel, chosen for the ultra-low temperatures and repeated frost cycles inside a freezer. How the racks will be cleaned and what will be stored matter more than a headline grade: saline, chloride-containing material or aggressive cleaning agents all change what we specify. Tell us that in the enquiry and the grade we recommend is stated on the quotation.

The 81-well boxes use a 9×9 grid and the 25-well boxes use their own grid; both are dimensioned to sit in standard upright and chest freezer rack footprints. Because racks are made to your cavity size, confirm the box format when you order the rack so the tier spacing matches the box height you are using.

The grid layout — numbers and letters — is already printed on the box as standard. For your own coding we engrave the side wall with a laser. Note that customisation is limited to the side wall; we cannot reprint the box surface with a custom grid or custom artwork.

Use the printed grid as the primary position reference and the box colour as a secondary identifier — for example one colour per study, donor group or collection year. That way a position can still be read directly off the box even if the paper record is lost, and boxes from different studies cannot be confused when they sit in the same rack.

The 2 ml internal thread tubes and the 4.5 ml external thread tubes are dimensioned for the standard 81-well and 25-well box grids. Tell us which box you are using and we will confirm the fit, since external thread and internal thread tubes sit at slightly different heights.

Two things: the tank model, and the blood bag format or capacity you intend to store. Blood bag racks are made to order rather than from a catalogue, so we issue a free layout drawing from those two inputs before quoting.

Standard items: From 1 pc - there is no minimum order quantity on standard items. Custom builds: It depends on what is being customised. As a guide, dimensional custom builds start at 500 pcs and laser engraving starts at 100 pcs per design. Confirm the exact figure with us for your item.

Standard items: 15-20 working days. Custom builds: 20-30 working days.

Stock samples are free of charge - you cover the freight. Custom samples are charged, and that cost is credited against your bulk order.
